This position will operate in a hybrid work environment, 3 days per week in the office (Philadelphia, PA).
OVERVIEW:
The primary function of the Alternative Operations Officer, Hedge Fund & Partnership Accounting is to be a key contributor on the Alternative Investment Services team, supporting the accounting and valuation of partnership investments held throughout the firm. The role oversees the approval of monthly Glenmede Hedge-Fund-of-Funds NAV packages along with the valuation and operational oversight of partnership investments held across client accounts.
RESPONISIBILITES:
Hedge Fund & Partnership Administration. Liaise with external administrator and review monthly Hedge Fund-of-Funds NAV packages. Accurately price partnership investments based on manager reports and financial statements. Capture and reconcile all investment and LP transaction activity across internal Glenmede systems.
Client Service & Reporting. Accurately reflect all partnership activities in client accounts to facilitate monthly estimate and flash reporting for OCIO clients. Assist with onboarding new OCIO and Private Wealth clients invested in partnership investments. Respond promptly to hedge fund and partnership-related inquiries from internal relationship managers and external administrator.
Audit & Tax Preparation of Glenmede Hedge Funds. Ensure timely completion of year-end audit and tax preparation for Glenmede Hege Funds. Coordinate requests from external auditors and tax teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Partner with internal teams to complete OCC and SOC 1 audit requests relating to partnership investments held in Glenmede client accounts.
Firm Building and Initiatives. Lead and participate in projects that improve Glenmede’s OCIO offering by expanding partnership investment capabilities. Active engagement in department-specific and firm-wide initiatives in order to expand capabilities, create solutions to unmet business needs, improve client experience, or develop more efficient processes. Ability and willingness to contribute to the advancement of team, office, and business capabilities. Other duties as required by the position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4+ years of experience in financial services supporting partnership accounting and reporting (Hedge Fund, Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, etc.)
- Experience supporting annual audit and tax engagements
- Deep knowledge of partnership fund accounting, valuation, and administration processes
- Strong interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA a plus
- Client reporting experience supporting OCIO clients or partnership investments
- Prior knowledge of partnership accounting systems, such as Caissa, Backstop, and Geneva
- Experience with private investment data aggregation software, including Arch, Canoe, and PCR, among others
