The Asset Management Finance team is a critical part of Antares and has oversight on all aspects of Fund financials and investor reporting with specific focus on Business Development Companies (BDCs). In this role, you will lead the Fund finance organization for accounting and reporting of BDCs working with outside Fund Administrators and internal stakeholders. This individual will understand and provide guidance on complicated levered structures and initiatives including financial reporting, overseeing third party administrators and ensuring accuracy via shadow booking of transactions, preparing capital calls and distributions, responding to investor inquiries, due diligence requests, etc. An ability to lead the team to complete multiple tasks while working under strict deadlines is essential. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead your fund accounting team to meet client deadlines and efficiently/effectively oversee financial reporting process.
- Using WSO as our shadow records, provide oversight of Fund Administrators to accurately produce quarterly and annual audited financial statements
- Work with Fund Administrators including US Bank, SS&C Technologies and AlterDomus and other departments at Antares to deliver results.
- Prepare timely and accurate books and records, financial statements, capital account balances, capital call and distribution notices, and other venture or fund accounting output for subsequent review.
- Reconcile various accounts and promptly research and correct any variances, including the reconciliation of accounts with third party administrators.
- Assist in the opening and structuring of new ventures and funds, working with Tax, Portfolio Managers, Investor Relations and Legal (internal and external).
- Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records and prices, communicating same to management, and assisting in their resolution.
- Oversee preparation of audit schedules, compliance reports, tax returns, financial statements, or other reports.
- Write reports periodically to management on fund activities and other related issues.
- Research investments for the purpose of ensuring proper accounting treatment (such as the nature of distributions, original issue discounts, and valuations) and compliance with SEC, tax, and prospectus restrictions and limitations.
- Institutional fund accounting processes also include preparing, reconciling and distributing reports to/from marketing, separate custodians and investment management.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business decision makers throughout the company.
- Serve as a leader of the overall Antares finance organization working with tax, treasury, management company accounting groups
- Strike NAV quarterly (monthly) in order to provide periodic liquidity and investing.
- Ensure quarterly financial statements can be provided 45 days after quarter-end including appropriate SEC reporting requirements.
ABOUT YOU
- Understand fair value accounting for alternative asset classes
- Experience with fund accounting / financial reporting for alternative asset manager including SMA’s, multi-investor vehicles, CLO’s and BDC’s
- Experience in, or exposure to, middle market lending and private equity activity including first lien and junior capital types of structures.
- Knowledge of structuring and launch of new asset classes/vehicles. Assist in risk management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented culture. Proactively seeks ways to constantly improve processes and implement best-in-class solutions.
- Team player with excellent relationship building skills
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in accounting function in fund accounting and/or auditor roles.
- Experience with finance company accounting and private credit funds and SOX 404 compliance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of Wall Street Office software (WSO) preferred.
- Experience using and/or developing data warehouses desired.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and CPA.
- Strong desire to learn, be self-motivated, proactive, well organized, and resourceful, with the ability to multi-task in a multifaceted environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a changing environment with a high level of flexibility
- Positive “can-do” approach to responsibilities and work collaboratively with others

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual base salary within the specified range is comprised of several components, including but not limited to applicant's skill, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and the location of the position.
This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance).
