Who You’ll Work With:
We are seeking a Nashville based Commercial Real Estate Debt Operations Manager to join our Private Alternatives Investment Operations team overseeing our growing US and European Commercial Real Estate Debt Operations. The Manager will have direct involvement in day-to-day service delivery tasks and will be responsible for managing a team of Associates. The role will interface daily with Investment professionals based in New York and Europe on all matters related to Investment Operations, as well as issue escalation and resolution.

The Manager will be responsible for ensuring best in class processes and robust control procedures are in place for all aspects of Operations and will be asked to streamline and optimize these workflows as the business grows and evolves. By thoroughly and critically analyzing current processes and identifying areas for improvement, the Manager should ensure the seamless execution of investment strategies and operational deliverables. Your contributions will be instrumental in boosting the overall performance and efficiency of the team and fostering the growth of this asset class across Institutional, Insurance and Private Wealth distribution channels.
What We’re Looking For:
Oversee and execute on the roundtrip trade lifecycle within Commercial Real Estate Debt and ensure seamless portfolio management operations and trade support for both private deals and any publicly traded assets, such as CMBS and derivatives.
Provide trade support for these private deals, including trade communication, trade lifecycle booking and confirmations, etc. of loan acquisitions, secondary offerings, restructurings, and loan lifecycle events on internal and external systems.
Complete trade authorization forms ensuring transactions are booked at service providers; maintain the multi-currency note register which outlines the various notes issued under the facility and potential repayments.
Perform Treasury management functions, including the following:
Work with our Private Alternatives associates in Nashville and Pune, to verify and process all incoming and outgoing wire transactions across all portfolios to fund deals, requiring full accuracy and operational efficiency.
Monitor and evaluate the weekly deal pipeline to prepare for upcoming activity and position the team to support end-to-end operational requirements related to new deal funding and existing loan drawdowns.
Compose weekly reports to reflect cashflow activity, projected investment income, forecast estimated distribution amounts from funds, oversee fees and expenses of external financing facilities.
Monitor hedging balances and provide trade support for the strategy’s hedging transactions
Develop a comprehensive understanding of daily and monthly reconciliations, encompassing positions, transactions, and cash within portfolios. This includes aligning and verifying data with third-party providers such as loan servicers, client and fund custodians, and fund administrators.
Ensure all portfolio activities, including non-investment related transactions, are accurately recorded and reconciled, and that any discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Provide oversight of loan servicers, verifying and maintaining loan data stored in portfolio management systems upon deal closing and at various reporting periods.
Oversight of Portfolio Data and third party hosted CRM & Portfolio system, including the creation of new companies, assets, portfolios, users. Monitor and track data attributes to support reporting and operations.
Develop strong internal and external relationships with all key stakeholders that manage and support both US and European Commercial Real Estate Debt products. Main point of contact to ensure deliverables are met, issues are communicated and solutioned for.
Work with Investment teams, third party providers, and the Private Alternatives Financial Control team to compile and review data used in reporting, assist in preparation of portfolio summaries, and provide ad hoc support in completing weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting deliverables.
Support and work collaboratively with AB’s Insurance Accounting and Operations teams to effectually meet the reporting and operational needs of our insurance clients.
Lead and manage a team of employees, providing guidance and support to ensure deliverables are met and overall team success. Monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement, implementing strategies to address issues and optimize team productivity. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting open communication and teamwork to achieve shared objectives.
Support Special Projects and Strategic Enhancements as needed (e.g., new product launches, process definition and enhancement, integrations with third party providers, assist Private Alternatives Business Development, Investment and other internal teams with ad hoc assignments).
