Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Associate/VP to join the Capital Markets team at Kayne Anderson Real Estate. The Capital Markets team is responsible for sourcing, structuring, negotiating, underwriting and closing all loans (credit facilities, loan syndications, and securitizations). The Capital Markets team works on all sectors across all equity funds and collaborates with all groups across the firm (acquisitions, asset management, legal, construction, accounting, investor relations, etc.).
General Position Responsibilities:
- Assist sourcing, hedging, and securing debt across all asset classes (primarily medical office, student housing, multifamily, industrial and seniors housing)
- Primary responsibilities include overseeing transaction execution from start to finish, collaborating with the deal team and our partners, conducting financial underwriting oversight, and managing lender relationships
- Assist in preparing offering memorandums, reviewing and analyzing term sheets, providing diligence materials to lenders, and negotiating loan documents for closings, modifications, and extensions
- Contribute to maintaining the real estate owned schedules for all funds and proactively track upcoming loan maturities, potential covenant defaults, and expiring hedges
- Assist various teams across the KA Real Estate platform with continued development and implementation of new processes and automated efficiencies
- Acquire a deep knowledge of the US loan financing markets and develop and refine financing strategies for our existing portfolio and pipeline
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5-10+ years of financial analysis, excel modeling, & closing experience. Experience in commercial real estate, with a focus on capital markets preferred
- Willingness to travel and work long hours in a demanding, self-motivated, highly focused, and collaborative team environment
- Effective communication, strong numerical/quantitative skills, integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and adaptability are essential to the role
