The Impact You Will Have In This Role
The Financial Reporting Director will play a key role in overseeing the preparation, analysis, and presentation of consolidated and/or stand-alone financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead financial reporting processes across multiple business units and/or jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with global reporting standards. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in financial reporting, a strong understanding of both US GAAP and IFRS, and the ability to navigate complex international financial structures. They will be a key advisor to senior leadership, providing insights into financial performance, and ensuring the highest level of governance and control in our reporting processes.
Your Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of the company’s consolidated and/or stand-alone financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and/or IFRS for various global entities and applicable regulatory capital calculations.
- Manage and streamline the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring that deadlines are met with complete accuracy and consistency across regions.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team by creating a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with peers across the organization to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including global accounting, FP&A, tax, legal, and treasury, to ensure alignment of financial reporting with broader business goals.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to senior management, highlighting key trends, variances and lead the preparation of reports for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency of financial performance
- Support the CFO and other executives with key financial data for strategic decision-making, mergers and acquisitions, and business planning.
- Drive the implementation and maintenance of strong internal controls, including consistent global policies and procedures, within the financial reporting process to ensure data integrity and consistency and best practices.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure that all reporting meets regulatory requirements as required by local reporting obligations; participate and coordinate with internal auditors, when necessary.
- Stay informed of updates and changes to both US GAAP and IFRS standards and evaluate their impact on the company’s financial reporting processes.
- Manage and maintain intercompany agreements, ensuring adherence to them and understanding transfer pricing implications.
- Mitigates risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed For Success
- CPA, ACCA, ACA or other relevant certification is highly preferred
- Expert understanding of financial reporting, accounting, or auditing, with at least five years in a senior leadership role within a global, multi-entity environment
- Broad knowledge of the wider finance disciplines: treasury, tax, financial planning & analysis
- Ability to influence timelines, expectations, and proactively negotiate across departments and sometimes functional management. Routinely used significant judgement on moderate business problems
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a diverse, cross-functional team, experience tactically managing a global team
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
