The CalSTRS Investments Branch is seeking an experienced individual to work as a Staff Services Manager I on the Investment Services Administration team.
Investment Services is comprised of the following business areas in the Investment Branch: Operations, Performance, Compliance, Data Solutions, and Administration. The Administration Unit, within the Investment Branch, provides administrative business services for the branch for tasks such as procurement, budgeting, personnel, travel, invoices and special projects. Performs analytical research, interprets data and completes sensitive projects. Partners with Administrative Services, Financial Services, Technology Services and General Counsel.
Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager ll, the Staff Services Manager l is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the travel and human capital management functions in the Administration unit. The incumbent is a working level leader and expert advisor who directs and manages a team of analyst who are responsible for performing complex, technical, and analytical duties in supporting travel, personnel and other administrative activities for the Investment Services branch.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Experience providing operational and management support in an investment environment
- Experience coordinating, reviewing, and approving high-volume domestic and international travel using Concur, BusinessDirect or other travel coordinating software
- Experience in working collaboratively across different teams
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively lead a team
- Ability to provide guidance and support to staff as needed
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and effectively present information
- Ability to prioritize workload, and ensure deadlines are met

- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of staff
Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.
