Job Description
Brown Advisory is currently seeking a proactive, visionary, and professional leader to join Brown Advisory as a Cash Management Team Lead. The Cash Management Team Lead will manage a team of Analysts across multiple geographies and be responsible for overseeing daily cash processing functions. In this role, the Cash Management Team Lead will be directly responsible for the execution and ownership of all aspects of cash processing for Brown Advisory, including but not limited to: core client money movement (Fedwire, ACH, international wire, check), client collateral loans and lending functions, class action services, and Family Office-based money movements. Furthermore, the Cash Management Team Lead will lead the construction and implementation of fraud prevention controls.
The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with an owner/operator mentality who brings strong accountability, knowledge, and detail-orientation to the organization. This individual must collaborate with, and build partnerships with, groups including Operations, the Private Client business, Internal Audit, Legal and Compliance, Information Technology, and Executive Management to develop value-add processes and continuously innovate. In addition, ideal candidates will be familiar with cash operations within an investment management setting, treasury functions, and/ or money movement processes for third parties and clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Invest in the development of team members to ensure continuous growth, including consistent 1:1 development meetings with direct reports to provide feedback, coaching and guidance on career goals.
Effectively delegate tasks to team members, providing clear guidance and direct supervision to ensure fulfillment of the team's mission.
Establish and oversee execution in pursuit of team goals, including the generation of quarterly progress reports.
Manage performance against SLAs and the completion of all tasks in assigned areas of responsibility.
Assist in onboarding new team members, ensuring system entitlements and access are properly configured and team members are equipped with the necessary resources for success.
Oversee daily workflows, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of cash transactions across multiple custodians.
Act as the primary escalation point for transaction failures, issue resolution, and service disruptions. Use appropriate judgement to escalate issues and exception requests against firm policies and procedures and own the resolution communication to impacted stakeholders.
Assist in addressing technology outages or disruptions, working with IT teams and stakeholders to mitigate impact and ensure operational continuity.
Ensure adherence to banking regulations (e.g., AML, BSA, custody rules) and firm policies.
Maintain current procedural documentation. Develop and refine operational procedures where documentation gaps exist.
Serve as a key resource for internal and external audits, providing documentation and process insights to demonstrate compliance and control effectiveness.
Engage in hands-on execution of key processes while maintaining a forward-thinking approach to efficiency and innovation.
Create an improved operating environment by instituting best practices through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Design and build best-in-class business practices across geographies and functions.
Institute, evaluate, and communicate daily workflow through quantitative metrics and management reporting.
Analyze core KPIs and service-level agreements (SLAs). Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, leveraging workflow tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Promote new ideas and drive improvements in team efficiency through prioritization and effective resource allocation.
Support long-term globalization efforts by identifying and addressing scalability challenges.
Actively participate in and support firm-wide initiatives, including networking, and community involvement, fostering a culture of engagement within the team.
Travel periodically to various office locations to strengthen relationships, enhance collaboration, and align operational strategies across teams.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, direct stakeholders, and external partners, serving as a key point of contact for operational needs. Proactively engage with cross-functional teams.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with custodial banks to ensure streamlined operations, resolve escalations and enhance service delivery. Work closely with internal teams to spearhead improvements and align on industry best practices.
Actively contribute to key projects and special assignments, providing operational insight and supporting execution.
Ensure ad-hoc tasks are completed as requested with functional review.
Regularly communicate the status of ongoing projects and tasks to the Manager.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree and over 5 years of experience in the financial services industry are required. Leadership experience and an MBA or advanced degree are preferred.
Demonstrated success in delivering process improvements, automation, and technology-driven solutions.
Preferred experience of:
PEGA systems, Confluence, and Smartsheet (workflow and documentation tools).
API solutions (process automation and system integration)
Data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau
Possess a global mindset and exhibits collaborative behavior.
Strong decision-making, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple locations and time zones, while maintaining strong performance under pressure.
Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.

Ability to positively adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
MD Salary: $90-$100k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
