OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY
Bayview Asset Management is seeking a Manager to join its expanding Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) & Insurance Finance team. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the finance, accounting, and investment operations related to Bayview’s Residential Trading activities, ABF product offerings, and the continued growth of our Insurance Asset Management (IAM) platform. The role requires strong collaboration across internal finance teams, business partners, and third-party service providers. Effective communication and organizational skills are essential, as the individual will interact with senior IAM leadership, insurance clients, and deal and ABF operations teams. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial reporting and/or accounting within the asset management or insurance industry, excellent time management skills, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and a desire to contribute in a dynamic and growing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage full-cycle accounting responsibilities, coordinating with third-party service providers to ensure accurate general ledger maintenance and financial integrity.
- Oversee daily and monthly reconciliations, including cash and position reconciliations across counterparties and administrators; work with operations teams to identify and resolve breaks.
- Prepare and review quarterly management fee calculations for Investment Partnerships and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), ensuring accuracy and alignment with governing agreements.
- Coordinate monthly NAV processes, overseeing preparation of accounting packages to support timely and accurate review of Trust and Fund Net Asset Values.
- Review and oversee income allocation, capital calls, and distributions for Investment Partnerships, ensuring adherence to partnership agreements.
- Manage cash operations and investment funding for ABF vehicles, coordinating with deal operations to process borrowing requests to loan agents and issuing direction letters to support timely asset acquisitions.
- Review trust reporting, including monthly waterfall calculations and trust payment statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deal terms.
- Oversee delivery of critical client data, including trade files and loan-level data tapes, with a focus on enhancing automation and implementing quality control protocols.
- Manage the end-to-end investment expense process, including invoice review and coordination with service providers to ensure proper ledger recording and client transparency.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Management to prepare detailed attribution reports and calculate investment performance metrics across Residential Whole Loan and Insurance portfolios; proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Partner with senior leadership to produce high-quality, timely investment reporting for institutional insurance clients.
- Conduct portfolio-level analytics, including balance sheet and income statement variance analysis, and provide insightful commentary to support financial reporting and decision-making.
- Support onboarding of new client accounts, collaborating with internal teams and service providers to establish efficient accounting and operational workflows for ABF and IAM strategies.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
- Experience with SQL/Alteryx/Tableau and Power Point presentations are strongly preferred.
- Possess advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Strong work ethic, quick learner, energetic and engaging.
- Ability to think outside the box, see the bigger picture and possess a willingness to solve problems, identify areas for improvement/automation and drive transformation.
- Comfortable with working with large sets of data; experience analyzing and reconciling financial data.
- Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of accounting ledger, reports, correspondence, and database.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal.
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively across various teams and interact with senior management.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to an ever-changing environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
- 5-6 years of experience in public accounting and/or private experience working in Asset Management or Insurance industry is preferred.
- Exposure to GAAP/Statutory Reporting for Insurance companies is a plus.
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration
- CPA license is preferred.
LOCATION & COMPENSATION:
- This is a hybrid position based in Bayview’s New York, NY office.
- Base compensation is expected to be $125,000-145,000, with opportunity for incentive compensation including a performance-based bonus.
