Responsibilities
The Rotational Analyst, Business Planning & Governance is responsible for supporting business planning, governance, and operational excellence and accountability across functions and Pillars at Hines, under the Director of Business Planning & Governance and Chief Operation Officer, Enterprise. This role directly supports executive leadership to translate strategic objectives into action, advises on and operationalizes business processes to ensure Hines is operating efficiently and effectively to meet its strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will also work in close collaboration with Finance, Data, and all Pillars to report the firm’s KPIs and manage governance operations in support of the firm’s Management, Executive, and Operations Committees.
Governance & Reporting
- Support the production of monthly, quarterly, annual reporting and meeting material packages for the firm’s Management, Executive, and Operations Committees.
- Support the execution of the annual Executive Committee retreat.
- Assist with managing the firm’s governance site, including committee details, firm organization charts; work with Marketing and Communications and IT to make appropriate and timely updates as needed.
Business Planning & Execution
- Participate in the project management of the firmwide annual planning and quarterly resource planning processes, under the oversight of the Director Business Planning and Governance.
- Prepare executive-level PowerPoint presentations to communicate progress on strategic projects.
In addition to the above, additional responsibilities may include:
- Draft communications for the dissemination of Management, Executive, and Operations Committee materials to the respective Committees.
- Operationalize the firm’s Annual Plan process by building playbooks, presentation templates, and developing guidance for the business units
- Partner cross-Pillar senior leaders to execute on select projects to enhance operational efficiencies, standardization, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain reporting tools to track progress of initiatives against the firm’s business objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements include:
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 2+ or more years of experience in business operations, strategic planning, or management consulting.
- 2+ or more years in project management, specifically designing, launching, tracking, and reporting on key business initiatives.
- Skilled in both strategy and execution and can translate ideas into action and outcomes.
- Exceptional ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts, including strong critical thinking skills and an ability to generate insights and develop action plans.
- Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in both his/her deliverables and communications.
- Strong ability to form strong partnerships at various levels of the organization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting; works on projects with a sense of urgency.
- Proficiency in productivity software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, project management tools).
- Working knowledge of the real estate industry and ability to develop an understanding of the strategic direction of the firm.
