Responsibilities
The Rotational Analyst, Business Transformation is responsible for supporting end-to-end execution of strategic projects in support of the Investment & Strategy pillar at Hines, under the Senior Director, Business Transformation and Global Head of Business Transformation. This role will help translate the firm’s business objectives into action, advise on and implement new core business processes by leveraging technology and data, to reduce friction and create efficiencies for the business. This position will support efforts to enhance operational processes by analyzing requirements, documenting processes, setting up processes/tools, and communicating with stakeholders.
The successful candidate will also partner closely with the Chief Operating Officer of Investment & Strategy to launch, manage, and execute projects in support of Hines’ investment management business.
In this role the individual will gain cross-functional projects experience, sitting at a unique position at the firm.
Cross Functional Project Management
- Work with business leaders to understand business objectives, current pain points, and identify opportunities to create efficiencies.
- Participate in discovery meetings with cross-functional stakeholders to understand and document current state business processes.
- Support Business Transformation leaders in drafting project plans by identifying tasks, project team members, roles and responsibilities, and timelines.
Planning & Execution
- Support root cause analysis to identify areas of opportunity and design of future-state processes.
- Provide recommendations to Business Transformation leaders on course of action for a given process using discovery findings as support.
- Create operating procedures to document processes and for training purposes for newly implemented processes and systems.
- Collaborate with IT to customize internal developments or third-party vendor integrations.
In addition to the above, additional responsibilities may include:
- Build and maintain project plans in collaboration with Business Transformation leaders and COO, Investment & Strategy.
- Plan and facilitate project meetings with cross-functional stakeholders, set agendas, recap and track next steps.
- Draft change management communication to support the adoption of a new process and/or tool.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements include:
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 2+ or more years of experience in business operations, strategic planning, or management consulting.
- 2+ or more years in project management, specifically designing, launching, tracking, and reporting on key business initiatives.
- Exceptional ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts, including strong critical thinking skills and an ability to generate insights and develop action plans.
- Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in both his/her deliverables and communications.
- Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong ability to form strong partnerships at various levels of the organization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting; works on projects with a sense of urgency.
- Trustworthy and a self-starter ready to build long-term value for the firm.
- Proficiency in the following technology platforms: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, flow chart software; eagerness to learn new tools to utilize as solutions.
- Working knowledge of the real estate industry and ability to develop an understanding of the strategic direction of the firm.
