Job Overview
The Real Estate Research & Sustainability Associate will report to the Senior Investment Strategist & Global Head of Sustainability and will be part of the team assisting in all aspects of the firm’s research and sustainability strategies across the firm’s public and private real estate investment platforms. The position will be based in CenterSquare’s headquarters office located in Conshohocken, PA.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in real estate research to enable firm’s thought leadership across public and private, equity and debt real estate platforms.
- Develop and maintain real estate research and sustainability databases to enable modeling and forecasting for the firm’s investment strategy across all investment platforms.
- Assist in the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria in investment processes, including supporting relevant investment due diligence and ongoing asset management activities and initiatives, including the development and maintenance of tools to support integration activities and initiatives.
- Assist in reporting for ESG strategies across reporting platforms (UN PRI, GRESB), CenterSquare’s annual sustainability report (including TCFD reporting), and quarterly/ad hoc client reporting.
- Assist in responses for RFPs, DDQs and other client requests related to investment strategy and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background with relevant undergraduate university degree, preferably finance, economics, or real estate
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and process-oriented approach to work
- Strong data management skills
- Project management and organizational skills – ability to prioritize and execute effectively
- Strong teamworking and communication skills
- Demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit – proactive and self-motivated with strong work ethic
