Position Overview
Leucadia Asset Management seeks an
Operational Due Diligence AVP/VP to assess and monitor managers and products across alternative investment strategies, including hedge funds, private equity, structured credit, venture capital and multi‑manager offerings.
The Analyst will execute pre‑investment diligence, ongoing monitoring and event‑driven reviews, collaborating closely with Senior Management, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations and Technology to identify, quantify and mitigate operational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre‑Investment ODD: Lead comprehensive operational assessments covering:
- Governance, organization & key personnel
- Trade execution, operations, and middle/back‑office processes
- Fund accounting, NAV oversight, expense controls, and cash management
- Valuation processes, methodologies, and controls
- Compliance programs & regulatory frameworks
- IT, cybersecurity, data governance & disaster recovery
- Risk management frameworks
- On‑Site/Virtual Diligence: Plan agendas, conduct meetings and walkthroughs with COOs, CFOs, CCOs, Heads of Operations/Technology, and key service providers.
- Documentation Review: Analyze offering docs and legal agreements (PPM, LPA, subscription docs, side letters), fund structures, fee/expense frameworks, liquidity terms, regulatory filings (e.g., Form ADV/PF), SOC 1/2 reports, audited financial statements, management letters, valuation memos, and compliance policies/procedures.
- Service Provider Oversight: Evaluate administrators, custodians, prime brokers, auditors, valuation agents, loan servicers, and technology/data vendors for independence, service quality, and operational resilience.
- Reporting: Produce clear, decision‑oriented ODD reports; present findings, mitigants and recommendations to senior management.
- Ongoing Monitoring: Execute periodic refreshes and event‑driven reviews; track incidents, operational changes, significant audit observations, regulatory updates, control remediation, and contractual amendments.
Qualifications
Required
- Prior experience at an outsourced due diligence consultant, asset manager/allocator, fund‑of‑funds, or audit/consulting firm focused on alternatives.
- Demonstrated coverage of alternative strategies (e.g., long/short equity, macro, quant, event‑driven, private credit/direct lending, special situations, distressed, private equity, buyout/growth, venture capital, structured credit).
- Strong understanding of fund structures, legal documentation, fee/expense frameworks, liquidity terms, valuation methodologies, and control environments.
- Working knowledge of relevant regulatory regimes (e.g., SEC, CFTC/NFA, AIFMD) and reporting (Form ADV/PF).
- Exceptional written communication with the ability to produce concise, actionable reports.
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Visio; strong project management with the ability to handle multiple concurrent reviews and deadlines.
Primary Location: New York Full Time Salary Range of $140,000-$155,000

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
