Position Summary
The Knowledge Management Manager plays a critical leadership role in advancing the firm’s knowledge infrastructure and systems. This position oversees the intranet and wiki team, assists with managing the lifecycle and organization of firm content, and serves as a key resource for the maintenance and optimization of enterprise search and document management systems. The manager works closely with attorneys, engineers, and business services departments to ensure the accessibility, security, and continual improvement of knowledge assets.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Team Management and Leadership
- Manage and develop a team supporting the firm’s intranet and wiki, fostering engagement, accountability, and high performance.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development support to team members.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
Intranet & Wiki Management
- Oversee the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and optimization of the firm’s intranet and wiki platforms.
- Ensure that user permissions, security protocols, and system updates are managed appropriately.
- Serve as the escalation contact for practice groups and business services departments regarding their intranet and wiki content needs.
- Develop, implement, and enforce best practices for the organization, categorization, and lifecycle management of intranet and wiki content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with firm standards.
- Monitor platform usage and analytics to inform ongoing improvements and training needs.
Enterprise Search Oversight
- Provide product oversight for the firm’s enterprise search tool, ensuring high-quality search experiences and effective retrieval of information.
- Collaborate with system engineers to address system updates, bug testing, and technical troubleshooting.
- Continuously evaluate search relevance and user experience, recommending improvements and coordinating implementation.
Document Management System (DMS) Coordination
- Serve as the liaison between the Knowledge & Innovation team and engineering teams for DMS updates and changes affecting attorneys.
- Communicate system changes, coordinate testing, and facilitate resolution of any issues impacting knowledge workflows.
General Responsibilities
- Monitor technology trends and best practices in legal knowledge management to recommend enhancements and support innovation.
- Develop and refine workflows and policies to support efficient knowledge sharing and utilization across the firm.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, data security, and confidentiality standards.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Knowledge Management & Innovation.

Education And/or Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a knowledge management role within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing professional staff, including mentoring, performance management, and workload oversight.
- Experience assisting knowledge management teams with intranet, wiki, or enterprise search systems.
- Familiarity with document management systems (DMS); experience with iManage strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a law firm knowledge management, innovation, or risk/compliance function, preferred.
Compensation
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 - $220,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
