We have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager in the Corporate Tax Department located in Pittsburgh, PA.
What You’ll Do
The purpose of this position is to perform/complete compliance duties, including tax return review and tax provision review, associated with the Federated Hermes operating companies. This includes various tax calculations and research to complete this position’s duties.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Bachelor’s degree in business related field with a Master’s degree in taxation; CPA Certification or significant progress towards attainment of CPA certification is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years professional tax experience; public accounting or combination of public accounting and corporate tax experience preferred
- Broad foundation of tax and accounting knowledge related to mutual funds, the securities in which they invest, and affiliated operating company service providers
- Knowledge of the accounting for income taxes, including FAS 109 and FIN 48, is preferred
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Oversee the review of federal, state, and local tax returns for the Federated Hermes operating companies and for the Federated Hermes’ consolidated corporate tax filing
- Coordinate income tax payments with management and Treasury Department
- Lead the review and analysis of the monthly and quarterly international and domestic tax provisions
- Oversee the preparation and review of the monthly and quarterly ETR projections
- Manage and review the property tax returns
- Direct collaboration with international tax teams on gathering data for U.S. international tax calculations
- Prepare quarterly stock redemption tax calculations and coordinate with Treasury on review/payment
- Oversee quarterly federal and state estimated payments
- Prepare and monitor FIN 48 calculations
- Ensure the development, maintenance, and effectiveness of Departmental controls and procedures in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Sections 302 and 404
- Assist with tax due diligence reviews of prospective acquisitions
- Guide research and analysis on a variety of tax issues while ensuring the team remains current on new or evolving tax laws, relations and industry trends
- Manage and coordinate and/or complete other projects as assigned by management
- Assist Department management, as needed, in the completion of various compliance functions
- Direct and maintain the Department’s Business Continuity plan
