Position
Northleaf is currently recruiting for a Senior Analyst, Investor Operations to join their growing Multi-Asset Strategy team. This posting is for a new role. This position is based in Northleaf’s Toronto office and reports to the Vice President, Investor Operations.
The successful candidate will oversee the ongoing development of processes for this new fund product and collaborate closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and third-party fund administrators to support day-to-day fund operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for managing the end-to-end fund reporting process, including coordinating with and overseeing third-party administrators in the preparation of financial packages, capital account statements, financial statements, and other customized reports.
- Assess the monthly returns for directional reasonability and be able to explain the primary drivers to multiple stakeholders.
- Manage capital activity processes, including capital calls and redemptions, and review the calculation of management and incentive fees, ensuring adherence to timelines and accurate execution.
- Support the recording and tracking of investment-level activity, including capital deployment, distributions, and related fund flows, while ensuring compliance with the valuation policy.
- Assist with the execution of the feeder hedging program on a monthly basis, including calculating hedge notional values and maintaining accurate records of all hedging activity.
- Contribute to the preparation of quarterly investor reports summarizing fund activity and performance and any other external deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support fund cash flows, ensuring all intermediary movements comply with the fund structure.
- Coordinate with Corporate Finance to ensure fund operating expenses are processed, recorded, remitted and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain robust processes while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with the technology team and business stakeholders to support the integration and storage of fund related data across the enterprise data warehouse, CRM, and Investran.
- Assist with annual audit, compliance, and tax filing processes.
- Complete ad hoc requests.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of operations and/or accounting experience in the asset management or financial services industry preferred.
- Knowledge and interest in private markets and investments
- Completion of or enrollment in professional designations such as CPA or CFA is an asset.
- Intellectually curious and seeking continuous learning opportunities in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- A self-starter who is analytical and forward thinking with the ability to drill down into data and issues
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize to effectively manage tasks to completion within required timeframes
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment on multiple tasks with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative – research and/or investigate issues requiring resolution to execute on assigned tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written) with the ability to liaise with all levels of individuals both internally and externally
- Strong Excel skills including macros, and pivot tables
Compensation
The expected compensation range (base salary and incentive compensation) for this position is $100,000-$125,000 per year.
