GROUP DESCRIPTION
Jefferies Global Healthcare M&A Group is one of the largest and most active investment banking franchises on Wall Street. The team provides comprehensive M&A advisory to clients across healthcare services, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, tools and diagnostics, and healthcare technology.
POSITION
The team is seeking an experienced Investment Banking Vice President or Director. The ideal candidate will be a Vice President or Director with direct experience executing and leading M&A transactions across one or more of the major subsectors. This role allows for significant upward mobility within the team and does not require applicants to have direct healthcare industry coverage experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead execution of complex M&A transactions, including sell-side, buy-side, joint ventures, divestitures, minority investments, and strategic advisory engagements.
• Serve as the deal team lead, managing analysts, associates, workstreams, client deliverables, and execution timelines.
• Oversee and build detailed financial models, including DCF, LBO, merger models, contribution/ownership analyses, accretion/dilution, synergy analyses, and valuation benchmarking.
• Drive due diligence processes, coordinating with internal teams, clients, and third-party advisors across financial, commercial, legal, and operational workstreams.
• Prepare and deliver client materials, including pitch books, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and strategic alternatives analyses.
• Lead day-to-day client communication and play a key role in developing and maintaining long-term client relationships.
• Work closely with product partners (ECM, Leveraged Finance, Private Capital Advisory, Restructuring & Recapitalization) to structure and execute integrated solutions.
• Manage multiple concurrent engagements in a fast-paced environment with a high level of ownership and accountability.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of Investment Banking experience (or equivalent), OR MBA or equivalent graduate degree and 3+ years of Investment Banking experience.
• Significant experience in M&A execution (healthcare and related subsector experience not required)
• Strong technical skill set with proven ability to oversee valuation, modeling, analyses, and execution processes.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing junior team members.
• Highly organized, resourceful self-starter who can operate both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Based in New York or willing to relocate.
