The Investment Associate will play a critical role in providing support to the Specialty Growth investment team to execute their investment strategy. Responsibilities include providing analytical support via updating databases and completing data reporting requests of both a routine and non-routine nature, assembling and reviewing data, conducting statistical analysis, and other security analysis tasks. Assignments can be non-routine in nature and may be of a confidential nature.
The Investment Associate position is intended to be three-year position and offers reimbursement for the CFA but not tuition assistance.
About The Team
The Specialty Growth Strategies (SGS) platform is a 10-member, Boston-based team within Loomis, Sayles & Company, overseeing more than $5 billion in assets across three equity strategies: Small Cap Growth, Mid Cap Growth, and Small/Mid Cap Growth. The team employs a collaborative, bottom-up fundamental investment process, with active stock selection as the primary driver of long-term returns.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and run reporting for the investment team in a timely manner
- Prepare ad-hoc analytical data as requested by the investment team
- Take initiative in working with technology to create more efficient reporting structures for the team
- Knowledge of the business and portfolio holdings and ability to generate reports in summary or detail around these holdings
- Develop real time monitors to track various portfolio positions
- Responsible for prioritizing the preparation and distribution of appropriate materials for meetings
- Assumes responsibility for special projects as assigned including those requiring effective use of internal and external data and information management systems
- Works independently and exercises judgment in dealing with external entities as well as personnel in the firm
- Be proactive in understanding how various functions within the firm are connected and be able to help develop new and improved ways of managing information flow
- Provide additional backup across peer group as needed
- Additional responsibilities as assigned or requested
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- A deep interest in stock investing and the aptitude to develop the skills necessary to be a successful investor
- New or recent college graduate, preferably with a Finance, Computer Science, or Economics degree
- Familiarity with job-related systems including Bloomberg, Factset, etc.
- Advanced Excel skills (macros, charts, pivot tables)
- Investment related experience preferred but not required
- Superior organizational skills and detail oriented
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- The capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- A positive approach to assignments
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
Additional Requirements
The position follows a hybrid schedule, requires being in the office Monday–Thursday, with WFH on Fridays.
Benefit Overview
Loomis Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position is $70,000- $100,000 USD. Your starting salary will be based on your experience, skills, qualifications and local benchmarking. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award, which is based on individual and company performance. In addition to your compensation, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being and financial security.
