Overview
The D. E. Shaw group seeks a detail-oriented and creative collaborator with well-developed communication and project management skills to join the Investor Relations team in our New York headquarters. You’ll work closely with members of Investor Relations as well as groups across the firm and have meaningful opportunities for professional development and direct engagement with the firm’s commercial decision making. This role offers the opportunity to develop and maintain relationships with clients and prospects, promote the firm’s range of investment capabilities, and be part of an inclusive and collegial working environment.
What You'll Do Day-to-day
Your primary responsibilities will include supporting relationship managers in cultivating relationships with investors and prospects, providing timely and accurate responses to inbound requests, and keeping investors informed about firm and strategy developments. You’ll also play an important role in the management of longer-term projects, including designing and maintaining robust product development and prospecting processes. A critical component of your role will include becoming well versed in the firm’s investment capabilities, financial concepts, and capital markets. You’ll develop a deep understanding of our clients and prospects, their business, and their relationships with the firm.
Who We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree is required, as is a record of academic and professional achievement and at least two to four years of financial market experience.
- A process-oriented mindset, the ability to execute short-term tasks while managing long-term projects effectively, and the desire to work as part of a team are all vital to this role.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, proven project management skills, and keen attention to detail are required.
- Previous experience in business development or relationship management is preferred, and candidates should be well versed in financial concepts and language.

- The expected annual base salary for this position is $135,000 to $175,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401k contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
