Purpose and Job Summary
ORIX Capital Partners is seeking a Director of Portfolio Operations to become an integral part of a high-performing Portfolio Operations Team. The Portfolio Operations Team is involved throughout the investment lifecycle, from diligence to exit, with the mandate to maximize sustainable equity value in partnership with investment and portfolio management teams. While individual methods may very we aim to get the best people, and implement the best strategies, and put the best processes in place to leverage portfolio scale and manage investment risk.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support and drive value creation across the investment life cycle - including investment strategy and exit planning - in fast pace and dynamic environment.
Work with deal partners on the creation of investment thesis and supporting investment decision process.
Effectively collaborate with the portfolio executive teams to define and execute operating agendas aligned to the value as defined in the investment thesis.
Developing detailed value creations plans, initiative sizing and prioritization, providing recommendations as well as driving execution at the portfolio companies.
Develop and execute post-acquisition plans (portfolio onboarding, 100-day planning, synergy realization, performance metrics, etc.).
Enhance portfolio monitoring process that includes both leading and lagging KPIs.
Identify and manage appropriate resources to drive key initiatives at individual companies or across the portfolio (these could include 3rd party advisors or internal ORIX resources).
Initiate and manage portfolio wide initiatives within a specific functional area aligning best practices across the firm.
Lead OCP internal operation initiatives relating to portfolio management .
Executed sale readiness playbook to prepare the portfolio companies for the exit process.
Fulfill the role of interim portfolio company executive as needed.
Work professionally and harmoniously with team and coworkers.
Travel Requirements - 50%.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college with a preference toward relevant business disciplines (accounting, general business, engineering, statistics, etc).
MBA degree from a top tier accredited university.
3+ years of business operating experience with P&L responsibilities and direct reports.
3+ years’ experience in management consulting with Private Equity experience preferred.
10+ Years of total experience.
Working knowledge and understanding of Private Equity and M&A transactions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and list other relevant systems or software.
Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments and to meet critical and established deadlines. Ability to manage multiple assignments and transactions simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities.
Ability to learn quickly and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team.
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and constant interruptions. Ability to adjust priorities in a changing environment.
Annual base salary gross: $200,000 - $250,000 (NY only). The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of the ORIX USA’s salary for this position. Actual base salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base pay is one component of ORIX USA’s total compensation package for employees.
