The Data Platform teamis a key part of BAM’s continued growth, managing core data infrastructure, systems, governance, and operations. The knowledge needed to leverage data plays an increasingly important role in the firm’s core business, resulting in continued investment in data technology.
Role Overview
The Data Platform team is looking for an experienced hands-on engineering manager to help us build a state-of-the-art Data Integration & Delivery Platform. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering and architecture skills, experience managing development teams, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, maintain, and own a Data Integration & Delivery Platform
- Own a proprietary research-focused Security Master
- Design and architect distributed data systems
- Manage a team of onshore and offshore engineers
- Mentor fellow developers and actively participate in code reviews
- Create standards and evangelize best practices
- Leverage AWS services for logging, monitoring, data storage, and more
- Troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years development experience with Python
- 10+ years of experience with SQL databases
- 10+ years of experience developing distributed systems
- 5+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
- 5+ years of experience with AWS development
- Strong verbal and written communications
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise with financial reference data and/or building a Security Master
- Expertise with traditional market data and/or financial aggregators (e.g. Refinitiv, FactSet, S&P, Bloomberg, etc.
With respect to NY and CA based applicants, the starting base pay range for this role is between $225000 and $275000 annually. The actual base pay is dependent upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, business needs and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonus compensation and employee benefits.
