Job Description
As a member of Dimensional’s Technology team, the candidate will manage a critical software team within the Investment System group; this position will include stakeholder engagement with business and technical leadership to build and enhance software solutions. The candidate will manage the product lifecycle with a focus on building teams aligned with product roadmaps, managing technology delivery services, and implementing solutions that support key business needs.
The optimal candidate will have experience working in an Agile environment that works across the Front Middle and Back-Office departments. This candidate should have experience in buy side financial services – preferably on a technology team delivering software solutions and data management with 3rd party service providers (e.g. Transfer Agency and Back Office).
Responsibilities
- Manage Product Management and Software Engineers responsible for technology delivery
- Collaborate with multi-Agile teams or Scrum of Scrum teams to successfully deliver software aligned to our Front, Middle and Back-Office.
- Accountable for product and data service delivery; inclusive of software development lifecycle management.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with business and technology stakeholders to build and manage critical Investments software systems.
- Accountable for the adherence to best practice standards around code quality, deployment, security, and automation.
- Collaborate across business, technology and project management office teams to ensure resource budgeting; ensure appropriate team models and resource allocation aligned to delivery expectations.
- Lead and facilitate maturity of Agile teams; inclusive of assessing trade-offs between business and technology focused demand, schedule, and provide technical guidance.
- Drive execution of roadmap plans and ensure quality delivery of technology services.
- Assist with 3rd party data service providers and vendor relationship management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 7-10+ years’ experience in a software engineering or business operations role in buy-side asset management. Specific experience with front-middle-back office; regulatory reporting is a plus.
- Prior experience managing the product lifecycle including building product roadmaps, managing product backlogs, and implementing software solutions.
- Experience working with CI/CD and SDLC workflow (Ex: JIRA, Git, Bitbucket, Github, Jenkins, Octopus, etc.)
- Experience working and developing with/on REST APIs and other non-DB direct interfaces
- Working with containerized platforms (ex: Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Experience managing both third-party vendor products and proprietary software.
- Experience with data analytics and or analytic reporting services.
- Embodies and applies an engineering mindset to all aspects of their role
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with a delivery-based orientation.
