Role Description:
The Associate will be an integral member of Evolution Credit Partners and will be responsible for supporting the various strategies across the Firm. This person will be exposed to a broad range of structured credit, direct lending, working capital finance, and other opportunistic credit investment opportunities across various sectors. Partnering with a deal originator, they will be responsible for the fundamental credit analysis of investments made on behalf of Evolution Credit Partners with a deep emphasis on bottoms-up credit analysis and credit markets. The Associate will also be responsible for undertaking additional responsibilities across investing, business development, investor relations, and other strategic activities to support the entrepreneurial nature of the Firm and its growing credit platform.
Evolution Credit Partners is seeking an experienced associate that has worked in financial services, has training at an investment bank or similar environment with a comprehensive foundational skills training program. The ideal candidate has a strong desire to work across the Firm and its various business lines in an entrepreneurial manner, possesses a deep interest in and understanding of the credit markets, and will be able to contribute immediately to expanding the team's analytical investment capabilities.
The role will entail the following:
- Conduct independent fundamental credit analysis, due diligence and approval of new investments
- Calibrate financing needs and structures for prospective borrowers
- Undertake financial modeling of investment opportunities
- Analyze comparable credits
- Provide comprehensive market reviews and insight across the credit markets
- Interact with management teams, industry sources, and other investment professionals
- Develop and advance business relationships, including with potential investments and existing and potential investors
- Work to source new investment opportunities in an entrepreneurial environment
- Lead specific aspects of the business development process including industry/market research, deal origination and qualification, and relationship building across key strategies for the Firm
- Provide portfolio reports and presentations for internal and external use
- Complete other ad hoc analysis and tasks as needed
- Adhere to investment processes and operational standards of Evolution Credit Partners
Skills, Experience and Education:
- 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, and/or other relevant fields
- Excellent credit skills demonstrated through prior relevant experience such as trading desk analyst or other credit research analyst roles
- Deep understanding of the broader financial and specifically credit markets
- Demonstrated initiative with high level of motivation
- Enthusiastic team player and flexible in approach with ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills for interactions with investors, investment targets, and other key third parties
- Open-minded thought processes with an ability to dynamically adapt to coverage of different investment strategies
- Excellent written communication skills
- Outstanding academic background from top-tier university
