We are hiring! We are actively seeking an Operator to join our team! We are looking for someone to set up their assigned machine to produce output as directed by their supervisor/coordinator. We need an individual who can consistently follow all required production and quality assurance procedures to ensure productivity, efficiency, quality and safety goals set forth by management are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for selecting the proper job templates and independently completes all machine/job operator setup procedures to successfully insert each job assigned.
- Consistently follows all work instructions and keeps the machine running at the best pace for the job. Scans the correct job into the IQ System at job start up, and reconciles all completed jobs to ensure that all mail pieces and inputs are properly accounted for. Immediately informs management of any reconciliation discrepancies.
- Ensures the correct inserts, envelopes and indicias for the job are being used. Completes a First Piece Sign Off (FPSO) and additional periodic checks for each job processed (including verifying print quality, front to back matching, proper cut, fold, etc.) are properly completed and documented, in addition to creating batch notes that will help the team analyze/reconcile any quality issues and discrepancies that may be identified.
- Verifies that the box and pallet counts are correct for each job. Confirms the addresses are correct (e.g., they follow a proper address format) and ensures the first and last sequence numbers match the batch ticket. Provides ample time to material handlers and floor leads to bring additional material or envelopes to the machine to keep it consistently running.
- Completes all required documentation that is relevant to the product being run on the machine, including updating Move Logs with accurate completed piece counts, including documenting muted pieces/mute counts. Properly accounts for and disposes of muted mailpieces.
- Monitors quality throughout each job and is responsible for all quality aspects throughout the insertion process, including ensuring that all envelopes are properly sealed. Documents quality check results in our production workflow system (IQ).
- Strictly follows all safety procedures during operation of equipment, and ensures assigned staff (e.g. feeders/sweepers) do the same. Immediately reports any safety concerns to management.
- Checks, signs, and dates material samples in the control envelope/IQ tracking sheet; ensures they match the material to be inserted, and checks for any bulletins or comments. Reports any discrepancies identified to management.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience within a production environment operating mail insertion equipment is required.
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate effectively in English. Ability to effectively communicate job status information as well as any operational concerns to peers and management.
- Knowledge of postage classes for different job types (first class, standard mail, etc.) and job material requirements.
- Basic digital literacy, including familiarity with Windows PCs/applications are required.
Skills/Proficiencies:
- Spanish communication skills a plus
- Must be detailed and able to review printed and inserted documents to ensure that they meet quality control standards.
- Proven listening skills. Ability to effectively take direction and be flexible to handle varying jobs/assignments.
- Basic mathematical and organizational skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Flexibility to work weekends, overtime and holidays as required based on production volumes and schedules.
- Requires standing for long periods of time; stooping and kneeling; lifting to waist up to 35 pounds
Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $17 - $17.25 per hour. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
