About This Role
The BlackRock Investment Stewardship (BIS) is a 60+ member team operating across nine offices globally (Delaware, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., in the U.S., London in EMEA; and Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo in APAC), – and undertakes engagement with and proxy voting at portfolio companies on behalf of clients globally.
The Client Operations role is responsible for supporting the broader Investment Stewardship team by promoting narrative content that keeps clients informed of the work done by our team. You will be responsible for completing stewardship related client questionnaires and supporting BIS client strategy to ensure BIS continues to deliver best in class Stewardship services to BlackRock clients. In this role you will report to the Manager of Voting Operations in Wilmington, DE.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the production of stewardship related due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), request for proposals (RFPs), and client inquiries with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail
- Support client strategy by filtering and prioritizing client meeting requests
- Assist with preparation of client meeting materials
- Partner with the BIS Client Engagement Lead on client strategy tasks and projects
- Collaborate with other functions across BlackRock (Communications, Investment Teams, Client Business) to deliver best in class client reporting
- Work closely with the BIS Communications team to regularly update and maintain a database of standard client responses
- Help enhance BIS processes around client responses and reporting
Proficiencies
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is required
- Is a self-starter and can self-motivate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized with ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Experience in writing DDQs and RFPs a plus
- Interest in corporate governance topics or willingness to learn
