Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Analyst with approximately 2 years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or a similar field to join our Portfolio Construction team. The ideal candidate will bring strong SQL and/or Python skills, critical thinking abilities, and experience working with large financial data sets, preferably with exposure to the mortgage industry. Candidates with experience from major financial institutions are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze extensive datasets to inform investment decisions in residential whole loan and non-agency mortgage securities sectors.
- Update and maintain complex financial models and quantitative tools that support portfolio management and investment analysis.
- Support fund-level data aggregation and reporting, focusing on performance metrics, liquidity management, and asset-level analysis.
- Build and manage databases to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting across the investment team.
- Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to internal teams and external investors.
- Assist in the preparation of client reporting materials, firm decks, investment pitches, and research reports, providing detailed data analysis and insights.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 2 years of experience in data analytics, financial analysis, project finance, or investment banking, ideally with exposure to financial markets or the mortgage industry.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or similar programming languages with experience in data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with macros and complex formulas.
- Knowledge of database management systems and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to present data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with mortgage loans, securitizations, and non-agency mortgage securities is a plus.
