Description
The Investment Data Analyst will be an integral part of Invictus's investment team, supporting data-driven decision-making for private credit funds. The role will focus on leveraging financial analysis, data visualization, and technology integration to enhance the firm's investment strategies. The successful candidate will develop and maintain databases, create models, and generate insights that inform key business decisions. This position offers exposure to all levels of the company and opportunities for hands-on learning in the financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in processing and transforming financial data for use across accounting, portfolio construction, and securitization.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for investor reporting, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Work with SQL Server to build and manage databases for efficient data aggregation and analysis.
- Collaborate with investment, risk, and technology teams to integrate new data sources and improve data-driven workflows.
- Support ongoing automation projects using VBA, Python, or similar tools to improve data workflows.
- Help interpret and analyze data to ensure it meets business needs and supports decision-making.
- Analyze large datasets to support investment decisions in the residential whole loan and non-agency mortgage securities sectors.
- Support fund-level data aggregation and reporting, focusing on performance metrics, liquidity management, and asset-level analysis.
- Build and manage databases to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes across the investment team.
- Prepare data visualizations and dashboards to present key insights to internal teams and investors.
- Contribute to investment pitches, research reports, and investor communications with detailed data analysis and insights.
- Assist in the analysis and execution of securitizations and other capital market transactions, including compliance checks, financial summaries, and documentation.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 1-2 years of experience in data analytics, financial analysis, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a data-focused discipline such as Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong foundation in T-SQL and SQL is required; experience with SQL Server is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Python, C#, C++, VBA, or comparable languages, particularly in contexts of data automation, analysis, and manipulation.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with macros and complex formulas.
- Knowledge of database management systems, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and reporting software.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data insights clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with financial markets, particularly mortgage loans and securitizations, is a plus.
