The Base
We are based at 7 Bryant Park in the heart of NYC. And we have everything we need to work flexibly. We operate a hybrid working model, with a requirement that our Private Debt and Credit Alternatives Sales Associate be in the office 3 days per week. This is to sustain our culture of innovation, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and building relationships within the business.

This is an opportunity to work interdependently with an engaged team that sits within a global Private Asset Sales function at a global asset management firm.
Position Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an Associate level professional to join a growing team and support our global client base of Credit investors through client servicing, sales support and education. Reporting to the Head of Private Debt and Credit Alternative Sales, in the Americas Client Group, this person will focus on contributing to revenue growth by working on relationships with current and prospective clients as a specialist, as well as relevant field consultants throughout the US, and partnering with the generalist client teams in the Americas. This person will also interact with the Product management team globally and be imbedded in the generalist client servicing team for collaboration and teamwork purposes.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with client group leadership, consultant relations, marketing, and various investment teams in PDCA to help execute a strategic plan to attract and retain assets from a wide range of institutional investors (public, insurance, corporate, E&F, family office, etc), and the wealth market, across the Americas (U.S., Canada, LatAm, with some exposure to global investors). Through collaborative internal and external relationship-building, this person will help to manage a strong pipeline of new opportunities across investment strategies. He/she will be expected to help grow Schroders’ AUM by nurturing relationships with both current and prospective institutional investors prior to the initiation of search activity in order to maximize the chance of success. To accomplish these goals, he/she will be expected to:
- Be intellectually curious and understand markets and investment solutions at a level that allows you to be a valuable resource to the client, as well as respectfully challenge them when appropriate.
- Develop an understanding of investors’ asset allocation framework and investment guidelines. Research clients and prospects’ asset allocations and help to provide sales ideas and areas of focus.
- Be collaborative internally, as a specialist function within a large and best in class multi-asset class manager,
- Coordinate investor road shows, email campaigns, plan client events, and represent the firm at industry conferences.
- Grow and collaboratively manage a strong and diverse pipeline with the Head of PDCA Sales. Travel to visit clients, prospects and attend industry events is expected over time as this person matures in their seat and responsibilities. Travel will be in the Americas, inclusive of the US, Canada and LatAm.
Administrative Responsibilities

- Maintain a current and accurate record of all activity in Salesforce in collaboration with the Head of PDCA Sales and the generalist team.
- Optional participation in the CFA and/or CAIA program to further knowledge.
- Participate in periodic strategic budgeting and sales projection planning in collaboration with the Head of PDCA Sales, Product and the generalist teams.
Basic Qualifications
Strong candidates will already be in an Associate level role at an Alternative asset management firm or multi asset money manager, with a focus on Credit markets, and understand how to manage a territory and pipeline and importantly work with a senior client/sales MD level person as their internal/junior resource and partner. He/she should be articulate, possess a high level of intellect, strong communication skills, and be a consummate team player. The position calls for a professional who is disciplined and organized with a high level of energy. He/she will be entrepreneurial by nature, seeking out opportunities to bring in new sources of revenue, and be client-centric in their approach.

- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-5 years of experience in the institutional market
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex financial products
- Excellent sales skills and in-depth market/product knowledge
- Ability to travel 25% of the time, with the potential for more as they become more senior.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fixed income knowledge across public and private markets
- Knowledge of alternative funds and structures
- Knowledge of competitor universe in Credit markets
Compensation
Schroders offers a base salary in the range of $130,000 to $150,000 for this position.
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
