The Colony Group seeks a motivated and qualified individual for the position of Research Analyst. The
Institutional Advisory Practice manages global, multi-manager portfolios for
non-profit organizations and families. As a Research Analyst, you will be part
of an investment team responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring
investment managers as well as performing research that supports our investment
and client communication efforts. The position will require analysis of a wide
array of investment strategies across asset classes and geographies.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Source
and perform due diligence on investment managers across asset classes
- Research
emerging areas of investment opportunity as well as initiatives that will
inform our investment thinking and client communications
- Construct
and enhance qualitative and quantitative manager analysis reports
- Utilize analytical platforms to monitor
portfolio exposures, characteristics, stress-test scenarios, and assess
potential risks and opportunities within portfolios
- Conduct portfolio analysis across asset classes
to assess performance, monitor risks, and identify optimization
opportunities
- Maintain a database of investment managers and
strategies and ensure seamless data integration across sources to enhance
portfolio analytics.
- Streamline analytics workflows through
automation
- Compose formal research reports and quarterly
manager research updates
- Effectively
communicate one’s analysis to the team verbally and in writing
- Prepare
materials to support our marketing efforts
Qualifications:
- A
bachelor’s degree
- 2 years+ of investment research experience (e.g., at an E&F, OCIO,
or similar investment office) conducting due diligence on actively managed
strategies
- Aptitude
in Microsoft Office suite as well as a variety of financial and
performance databases (e.g. Bloomberg, Morningstar, FactSet, etc.)
- Experience
in coding a major plus
- Knowledge
of qualitative and quantitative investment concepts
- Strong
communication skills, both verbal & written
- Exceptional
organizational skills and attention to detail
