Compensation Range
Hourly: $18.00 - $21.15 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)
The Wealth Management Bill Payment Associate is the primary point of contact for Private Client & Institutional Administrators within the Commerce Trust Company. The primary focus is servicing and processing for time sensitive, high-risk transactions for Private Client, Institutional, Family Office, and Real Estate Administrators. The Bill Payment Associate also serves as a liaison between the Advisors and other departments of the Trust Company including Operations, Audit, Compliance, Legal and Tax. This position plays a key role in how new customers form their first and ongoing impressions of the Trust Company. This requires excellent relationship building skills, critical thinking, and the ability to make sound and prudent judgment on a simple perception of a situation. This role also requires excellent attention to detail along with a broad range of industry knowledge including current taxation and compliance regulations.
Essential Functions
- Ensure a timely, complete and accurate processing of bill payment transactions
- Facilitate all distributions related to the bill payment product offering; responsible for processing and/or quality review of one time and recurring distributions/receipts and cost basis, ensure all compliance requirements have been met and all processing and coding is complete, timely, and accurate
- Build and maintain relationships, ensure appropriate controls are in place for all processes related to the bill payment product offering; responsible for identifying accounts with past due bill payments, collaborating with the internal departments to identify clients with additional bill payments that can be serviced
- Drive process improvements, maintain documentation, and assist with projects and testing
- Work closely with other support teams within the Trust Company to resolve client transactions and with other team members to assist/backup during high volumes or absence
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Basic knowledge of wealth management bill payment practices

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 2+ years finance or investment management experience required

At Commerce, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $18.00 to $21.15 per hour.
