As a senior member of the Public Relations Team, you will work with Baird’s business and other leaders, associates in Marketing & Communications and throughout the firm. You will also partner with outside PR partners, to plan, develop and implement public relations and other communications strategies to effectively convey Baird’s brand and key messages internally and externally.
As a Senior Public Relations Specialist, You May
- In a strategic leadership capacity, identify, recommend, develop and implement public relations and communications plans, projects and activities to support the business’ goals, overall business development and brand building efforts. This includes thought leadership, issues/change management media relations, awards and recognitions, market expansions, new offices, talent acquisitions, transactions, etc.
- Direct efforts of Baird’s outside PR partners.
- Oversee training, preparation and pitching of Baird media spokespersons.
- Provide guidance to PR Coordinators, Specialists in assessing media inquiries and recommending appropriate action.
- Be Responsible for engaging efforts of others on PR team and in Marketing & Communications to track and report project outcomes and leverage key media coverage with internal and external audiences.
- Lead video production for media outreach and other business development efforts.
- As appropriate, help coordinate internal communications.
- As appropriate, develop communications and presentation materials for senior management.
- May manage interns/temporary associates on the Public Relations Team
- Help educate Baird associates on the role of Marketing & Communications and Public Relations and how we can help them achieve their goals.

What We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Marketing preferred.
- 5+ years of Public Relations experience; financial services experience a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize daily and long-term workflow to meet deadlines.
- Must be a strategic thinker and a quick study.
- Strong PC skills with good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to be a strong team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills; must interact effectively within Baird and externally.
- Must have strong writing, editing, communication, and organizational and consensus-building skills.
- Experience in social media, video project management and other disciplines of marketing and communications a plus.
