The Events Senior Manager will provide leadership and professional expertise in the strategic planning, execution and management of WPB’s external and internal events designated to further the strategic priorities of the organization with our clients, prospects and employees. The Director will be responsible for maintaining the high professional standards and procedures for the production of events in keeping with the image and reputation of the organization and serve as the central resource for event protocol. The individual must have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and clients. The individual is expected to have strong knowledge of event planning best practices along with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines. This position is responsible for all aspects of an event – from strategy, to planning, budgeting and contract negotiations through execution, on-site support, post-event follow-up, lead generation strategy, event promotion and evaluation of the return on investment. This position will work closely with various business areas and geographies to closely align event activity with business goals and marketing objectives.
As our Events Manager you will:
- Create and maintain professional standards and procedures for all event productions
- Develop appropriate event programming with associated sponsoring unit and prepare event briefings
- Coordinate with senior management on events to develop, control and administer the special events operational budget and ensure it is prudently managed
- Initiate, strategize and implement creative programs for WPB
- Work with senior management to develop marketing plans to support core company initiatives
- Strategize and develop national and local special event programs to support the sales plan and employee recognition
- Develop opportunities to support the company’s philanthropic mission
- In partnership with key staff, develop and ensure utilization of standardized systems and technology to automate elements of event planning, tracking and production
- Develop agenda content, plans and timelines for all pre-event planning sessions
- Coordinate the scheduling, securing and negotiation of all necessary locations and vendors
- Conduct all correspondence and final arrangements with speakers/guests/employees and coordinate any travel arrangements and reimbursement obligations
- Prepare and provide reporting on statistical analysis of events
- Prepare quarterly metrics related to events showing results for leads, contacts or awareness around event participation
- Prepare year-end events report, providing analysis and recommendations for future actions and improvements
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $134,500 and $201,800.
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements
You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- 8+ years with proven record of developing and managing marketing programs, events and sponsorships
- Financial Services or management consulting experience preferred; working in a large matrixed global organization
- Prior experience managing the development of events and sponsorships from beginning to end; understanding stakeholder requests, developing strategic frameworks, researching and negotiating partnerships, managing budgets and agencies, delivering and producing events, and evaluating effectiveness including the ability to translate data-driven insights and measurements into actionable next steps
- Marketing, Brand, Sales Support, Communications, Public Relations experience
- Proven record of driving innovation by challenging convention and identifying opportunities to develop unique, competitive events/sponsorships programs
