The Senior Consultant, Government Relations is a seasoned expert responsible for managing existing and emerging risks and controls, supporting the overall mandate of the governance and controls team.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Legal, Business Management, Accounting or a related field
- Experience interacting with Regulators or working for Regulators is preferred
- Sharepoint & Excel skills are ideal
- Exam Management background
- 5+ years of experience in a bank
Who you'll do
- Use deep knowledge in your field of expertise to manage and resolve all governance and control issues by providing coaching and high level consulting service to various business lines.
- Act as a subject matter expert on projects and initiatives, and manage all internal and external audit engagements.
- Use significant latitude in determining objectives, advising on governance and management of regulatory risk, implementation of regulatory strategies and standards, and with internal and external communications concerning regulatory topics.
- Provide innovative, original ideas, accountable to broadly defined policy objectives as the role often operates in ambiguous situations and.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $110,000 - $135,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
