Job Summary:
As the People Partner with global oversight for Systematic, Equity Arbitrage, and Credit, you will align people priorities with the business strategy by taking both a hands-on and strategic approach to providing expertise as a trusted advisor to the senior management in the areas of business planning and goals, employee relations, workforce and succession planning, talent development, performance management, employee engagement and retention and ad hoc projects as necessary. You will help drive a high performing culture that supports Balyasny’s ambitions, goals and philosophy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build a strong people partner relationship with senior executives and employees, and develop a strong understanding of their business, their goals, and challenges. Offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution.
- Anticipate, assess, and help to address systemic issues through facilitation, coaching, counseling and the use of People data and technology.
- Be a champion of Balyasny’s culture and philosophy, consulting with business leaders on strategic initiatives, working with employees and cross-functional groups to solve complex organizational challenges, and be an integral part of the client's leadership team.
- Utilize people metrics to drive key insights and decisions that support growth and retention
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. In partnership with the Legal team, conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, mitigating legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Support the design, development, implementation and execution of critical People initiatives and projects (Performance Management, Leadership Development, Talent Development)
- Bring the whole People function to the business by working closely with the various People Team Pillars and the global People Partner team
- Sole ownership and or contribution to various projects and / or responsible for the project management of work streams associated with business initiatives
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
The qualifications you need:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 8-10 years + of experience as a People Partner (HR Business Partner), preferably in a dynamic fast paced financial company.
- Extensive strategic HR Management experience in a fast paced, global, matrix environment and across people partners and CoE roles
- Analytical, design systems thinker and problem solver that is highly collaborative and thrilled by a challenge
- Well-developed financial industry knowledge, market insight, and proven enterprise thinking.
- Ability to establish solid relationships with all levels of an organization, strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to lead with a consultative approach, and provide guidance and advice when needed
- Strong project management, communication, listening and presentation skills
- Must be willing to travel as needed
With respect to NY and CA based applicants, the starting base pay range for this role is between $150000 and $250000 annually. The actual base pay is dependent upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, business needs and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonus compensation and employee benefits.
