The Fund Finance team provides oversight of Dimensional’s investment fund products, including daily valuation, expense budgeting and payments, and internal and external reporting. The Senior Associate position will be responsible for the critical functions around fund expense administration and oversight. This role actively works with individuals throughout the firm, third-party service providers, and external auditors to provide information and meaningful insights. The Fund Finance is a highly collaborative team focused on continuous process improvement.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund Expense and Reporting Oversight
- Oversees the workflow of third-party service provider billing from invoice receipt through timely payment, including confirmation of adherence to all contractual obligations, policies, and rates.
- Assists with essential monthly analyses of fund expense ratios, caps, and waivers.
- Reviews deliverables from the third-party service providers for accuracy, including management fees, administration services invoicing, and budgets.
- Contributes to the preparation of critical internal and external reporting deliverables, including Board reporting, fund prospectuses, and regulatory filings.
- Participates in various business initiatives, such as new fund launches, mergers, and conversions.
- Manages and completes ad-hoc requests and special projects, such as fund expense modeling and scenario assessments.
- Identifies opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processes through new technology and innovative thinking.
- Maintains various components that are critical to the team’s operations, such as data tables, procedures, and process documentation.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry with asset management product experience (mutual funds, ETFs, hedge funds, and private funds). Fund accounting knowledge a plus.
- Prior experience working for and/or closely with third-party service providers.
- Exceptional professional verbal and written skills; must be able to articulate clear point of view on technical matters in concise and meaningful communications with various levels of the organization.
- Highly motivated, participative, and collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Capable of effectively managing multiple deadlines and delivering under time pressure while using sound judgement.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with Microsoft tools (intermediate to advanced Excel skills) and Business Intelligence solutions to create efficient, well-controlled processes (e.g. Alteryx, Power BI, Power Automate).
- Proficiency in computer programming, database administration (e.g., SQL; Python, Tableau) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
