The Role
Apollo is seeking an experienced Principal to be a core member of its growing U.S. Sponsor Origination team and play a critical role in coordinating activities across multiple teams and processes. Leveraging their extensive experience, insights, and relationships, this role will be responsible for primary and secondary coverage of financial sponsors and alternative asset managers to source financing opportunities for Apollo’s various funds and platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with senior members of the Sponsor Origination team to drive holistic coverage of key financial sponsor relationships
- Identify, source, and win proprietary, direct deal flow
- Develop and deepen large cap and upper middle market sponsor relationships in coordination with Apollo platforms
- Drive execution processes in coordination with product teams ensuring best-in-class experience for clients
- Initiate and coordinate idea generation across the platform
- Work closely with junior team members to oversee work, drive prioritization, and assist in career development
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting and/or economics.
- 7+ years of experience in leveraged finance, capital markets or investment banking
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate a credit, conduct diligence, structure a financing, and negotiate terms
- Strong judgement skills required
- Thrives in a team setting, and possesses a desire to leverage creative ideas and substantive plans to help grow the group
- Positive attitude with an engaging and professional demeanor to be an exceptional representative for both Apollo clients and internal counterparts
- Nimble and flexible with the ability multitask and effectively prioritize simultaneous tasks
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment

$300,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
