OVERVIEW:
Glenmede, a leading investment and wealth management firm, is seeking a talented and motivated Director of Investment Performance to join our team. This role is pivotal in analyzing and reporting the performance of investment portfolios, ensuring accuracy, and delivering insightful performance metrics to our clients. The role will be a leadership position responsible for overseeing the Performance Measurement team serving Glenmede’s three business lines: Private Wealth, Endowments & Foundations, and Glenmede Investment Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team Management. Lead the performance team composed of one to two internal analysts, as well as outsourced resources and technology vendors.
- Project Leadership. Further develop Glenmede’s ability to offer performance reporting to large OCIO clients that utilize partnership investments. Additionally, lead effort to evaluate and potentially adopt Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) for OCIOs.
- Performance Analysis. Conduct detailed performance measurement and attribution analysis for client portfolios, comparing actual results to benchmarks and objectives.
- Client Reporting. Oversee the process to create monthly performance reports for clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and timeliness. Glenmede utilizes FirstRate to calculate client performance.
- Data Management. Maintain and update performance databases and systems, including composite construction, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Identify and scrub data issues related to transactions and securities.
- Client Engagement. Collaborate with client service teams to address client inquiries and provide performance-related insights and explanations.
- Process Improvement. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of performance measurement and reporting.
- Compliance. Develop and maintain expertise around industry standards, and work to ensure Glenmede’s policies adhere to industry and regulatory best practices. Update current documentation regarding the firm’s GIPS® policies and procedures and manage the firm’s GIPS® verification process. Adhering to Performance Industry standards is crucial for maintaining the integrity and transparency of Glenmede Investment Management (GIM) performance reporting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in performance measurement, investment analysis, or a related role.
- Proficiency in performance measurement tools and software, as well as advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate meaningful insights. Experience in performance reporting and attribution for multi-asset class portfolios including private equity, hedge funds, and other partnerships.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certifications: CIPM, CFA or other relevant professional certifications.
- Thorough understanding of investment management, portfolio construction, and performance measurement standards.
- Familiarity with performance measurement systems, such as First Rate, CAPS, Global Plus, Markit EDM and FactSet.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely to clients and internal stakeholders.
- High level of precision and attention to detail in all work products and a fundamental commitment to ensuring client reporting is accurate.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with colleagues across various departments.
