This position will operate in a hybrid work environment, 3 days per week in the office (Philadelphia, PA).
OVERVIEW:
The role of the Client Development Associate is to partner with the Business Development team to identify, develop and cultivate new private client and endowment and foundation clients. The CDA will play an integral role in business development and client service efforts through the completion of requests for proposals (RFPs) for our Endowment & Foundation and Private Wealth Management teams. Additionally, this role will provide foundational sourcing, prospecting and client development skills necessary to be successful as a Business Development Officer in the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proposal Preparation. The workload related to this will vary over the course of the year (between 20-80% of your time) but this is the highest priority for this role. Coordinate the completion of RFPs by partnering with both the Endowment & Foundation and Private Wealth teams to create customized, tailored responses. candidate will need to be deadline-oriented, with comfort managing multiple projects at once. Build an in-depth understanding of the firm’s history, distinguishing factors, investment philosophy and process, manager evaluation process, reporting capabilities and compliance procedures. Actively maintain, update and add to a library of responses, by collaborating with internal subject matter experts to ensure responses are the most accurate representation of the firm. Commit to improving the efficiency of the process and quality of responses.
Business Development Support. Support the Business Development Team in the implementation of a business plan and business development strategy. Assist in identifying and attracting new revenue from high net worth individuals, families and endowments and foundations, including taking responsibility for documenting new opportunities in Salesforce. Assist in the customization of presentation materials advocating the uniqueness of prospective clients and develop/implement marketing plans for proactive outreach.
External Representation. Participate on behalf of Glenmede at relevant industry or firm conferences. Apply knowledge of financial markets, core products and services, and Glenmede requirements when interacting with prospects to effectively identify and meet their objectives. Proactively keep prospects updated on new product offerings and send prospects relevant product information (i.e.: market outlook materials, industry-specific research, etc.) which solidify and add value to the relationship.
Firm Building. Active engagement in department-specific and firm-wide initiatives in order to expand capabilities, create solutions to unmet business needs, improve client experience, or develop more efficient processes. Ability and willingness to contribute to the advancement of team, office and business capabilities. Other duties as required by the position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 0-3 years of experience, preferably with a demonstrated interest in financial services.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Superior writing skills, willingness to provide a writing sample.
- Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt in the high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to hold team members accountable to deadlines.
- Strong self-starter demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness; ability to work independently or as part of a larger team.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
