JOB TITLE: Fund Controller / Chief Accounting Officer
LOCATION: NYC
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Management & Operations: Assist in managing direct lending funds primarily secured by commercial real estate, including daily operations like cash management, capital calls, and distributions
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and other accounting standards
- External Coordination: Manage relations with service providers, including Fund Admins, auditors, and tax firms
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review financial statements and presentations for stakeholders (LPs and GPs)
- Accounting & Records: Maintain accurate accounting records, general ledgers, and monitor performance
- Technology & Efficiency: Leverage systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity, ensuring alignment with the CFO's strategic vision
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA Required
- 8+ years of experience in fund accounting preferably within private credit, direct lending supporting middle market commercial real estate transactions
- Advanced Excel skills, including modeling and financial analysis
- Skilled in Loan Accounting, loan operations
