Position Summary:
The Head of Multi-Asset Risk Management will serve as a key leader within the firm's investment management team, focusing on the design, implementation, and oversight of multi-asset financial risk management frameworks. This individual will be responsible for driving the risk management of semi-liquid investment products and solutions across private markets.
The role requires a strategic thinker with advanced expertise in portfolio management, stochastic modeling, risk management, and liquidity strategy. This individual will work closely with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), senior leadership, and clients to enhance portfolio construction, optimize asset allocation, and manage risk across complex investment structures. As the face of the firm's multi-asset risk management, the candidate will also engage with our financial partners, gather market intelligence, and shape innovative strategies.
The role can be based in our office in New York City or Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive framework for managing the firm's multi-asset risk, including managing liquidity risks in semi-liquid, multi-asset portfolios to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns.
Portfolio Strategy and Risk Management:
- Design and refine optimization algorithms and risk management tools using advanced computational statistics and programming (e.g., R, Python).
- Implement sophisticated portfolio strategies with a focus on liquidity risk, performance optimization, NAV development, and the unique challenges of illiquid investments.
- Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, and performance evaluation to ensure portfolio integrity and alignment with investment objectives.
Product Development and Innovation:
- Collaborate on the creation, launch, and management of multi-asset class investment products in collaboration with the CIO and senior leadership.
- Enhance portfolio construction and asset allocation methodologies to meet risk targets, client objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Develop semi-liquid product structures that balance performance, liquidity, and risk.
External Engagement:
- Collaborate with the firm's financial partners to manage liquid risk and receive superior market execution
- Leverage market intelligence to refine product offerings and identify opportunities that balance innovation and risk objectives.
Requirements:
Education & Certificates
- Advanced degree in finance, actuarial, economics, mathematics or related field preferred
- Professional certifications (e.g. FSA, CFA) ideal
Professional Experience:

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic vision and client-centric leadership to drive innovation and growth. In addition the ideal candidate will possess:
- 12+ years of experience in financial risk management or related area
- Advanced expertise in portfolio management, risk management, internal control and corporate governance framework(s) and stochastic modeling.
- Track record of designing and implementing effective risk management frameworks
- Proficiency with programming languages such as R, Python, or equivalent tools for optimization and analytics.
- Demonstrated success in managing multi-asset risk and portfolio management

Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to New York and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $400,000.
