Baird’s Private Capital Markets (PCM) Group is a leader in providing bespoke financing solutions across the entire capital structure to our clients in the U.S. and Europe. Our equity product capabilities include highly structured minority equity and equity-linked securities for private issuers, PIPEs, and company-led secondary liquidity solutions. Our debt product capabilities include asset-based, 1st & 2nd lien, unitranche, mezzanine, high-yield and other structured debt instruments. We assist clients with growth, acquisition and project financings, refinancings and recapitalizations, strategic partnerships and joint ventures. We work across all industries and partner with Baird’s vast network of industry coverage bankers to optimally position our clients for successful transactions. We advise management, shareholders and Board members through complex financing processes and deliver solutions to support our clients’ strategic objectives. Our team possesses strong relationships with a broad universe of investors globally, including private equity, hedge funds, family offices, alternative capital providers, banks, and non-bank credit funds, creating competitive processes that optimize pricing, terms, speed and certainty.
As an Associate in the Private Capital Markets team, you will:
- Be a central and critical member of the PCM team
- Lead the execution of minority and structured equity and equity-linked transactions, including preparing and reviewing company marketing documents and financial models, managing marketing and investor due diligence processes, analyzing financing alternatives, term sheets, preparing client and Board presentations and negotiating documentation
- Manage and mentor junior bankers on deal teams and within the PCM Group
- Assist senior bankers in the business development effort with prospective corporate and private equity clients
- Cultivate and optimize relationships with financing providers, including private equity, venture capital, credit and hedge funds, family offices, and other alternative investors
What We Look For
- Self-motivated, go-getter who takes personal ownership of our clients’ objectives and our PCM Group mission
- At least 3 years of relevant investment banking experience, including deal execution and business development experience
- Experience in analyzing capital structure and structured equity and equity-linked securities, and an ability to lead the execution of key aspects of structured equity financing transactions. Any leveraged finance, M&A and/or buy-side experience will be a plus
- Superior intellect, demonstrated leadership ability, attention to detail, ability to work in teams and a commitment to excellence and mentoring junior bankers
- MBA or JD degree and Series 63 & 79 licensing preferred

Additional Details
Compensation Information:
- Min: $200,000 – Max $200,000 Annual Salary
- Merit-based bonus
- Compensation and bonus are commensurate with experience, performance and/or GIB profitability
