Accountant - Staff
·Act as the primary team member responsible for the successful completion of the daily and monthly payroll cases for distribution of benefit payments.
·Investigate issues and make necessary adjustments related to the daily and monthly payroll cases to ensure their completion. This includes, but is not limited to:
oUpdating member payment information in Horizon Ariel Payroll.
oAdding or removing members from payrolls in Horizon Ariel Payroll.
oVerifying calculations for complex adjustments.
·Send daily retro payments detail and trial pay registers to other departments via email to review for accuracy.
·Send daily notifications via email informing others when the daily and monthly payroll cases are completed.
·Act as the primary team member responsible for the successful completion of the daily and monthly disbursement cases for distribution of vendor payments and internal deductions in Horizon Admin Portal.
·Act as the liaison between Finance and other departments as it relates to daily and monthly payroll and disbursement cases.
·Daily approval of benefit and vendor check payments on the outsourced check printing vendor website.
·Act as the liaison between IMRF and the check printing vendor as it relates to issues and/or special requests regarding checks.
·Void cash receipts/credits in Horizon Dynamics GP and invoices in Horizon Admin Portal upon request.
·Complete member COLA adjustments in Horizon Ariel Payroll when necessary.
·Create work orders for issues related to the daily and monthly payroll and disbursement cases.
·Participate in user acceptance testing for Horizon software updates and defect fixes.
·Daily reconciliation of journal entries that are imported into the general ledger from the sub-ledger.
·Monthly reconciliation of payroll journal entries that are imported into the general ledger from the sub-ledger.
·Perform the necessary edits relating to Excess Benefit entries prior to importing into the general ledger.
·Prepare monthly journal entries to record the correct transaction dates for payrolls and disbursements.
·Assist and serve as the backup to the Senior Accountant - Reconciliation with Securities reconciliation.
·Serve as backup to the Investment Accountant.

Salary and Benefits
The expected annual salary range for this role is $60,485-$64,114. Please note the salary information is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The range listed is just one component of IMRF's total compensation package for employees.
