Business Development Associate

Role Description:
The Business Development Associate will be an integral member of Evolution Credit Partners and will be responsible for supporting the Trade Finance investment strategy. This person will be responsible for working directly with our team to identify, source and onboard Trade Finance counterparties and investments through strong emphasis on sales, business development relationship development and pipeline management. The role focuses on business development with additional exposure to operations, marketing, and other strategic activities.
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated professional with prior business development experience in insurance, factoring, financial services, or related fields. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in exceeding new business targets, possess strong communication skills, and will be able to contribute immediately to expanding the Firm’s business development capabilities.
The role will entail the following:
- Work to broadly source new business opportunities in an entrepreneurial environment with a focus on Trade Credit Protection, a strategic product offering by the Firm
- Collaborate with key stakeholders of the Firm to develop a pipeline of companies and other counterparties that meets the Firm’s investment targets. This includes the identification and development of new target lists, key companies and decision makers
- Lead specific aspects of the sales and business development cycle including industry/market research, outreach, presentations and relationship building with C-suite executives
- Partner with senior members of the Firm to implement and execute credit investment initiatives of strategic relevance with a focus on client acquisition and Trade Credit Protection
- Prepare sales reports, pipeline updates and performance metrics for senior management
- Complete other ad hoc analysis, presentations, and communications related to business development as needed
Skills, Experience and Education:
- 2+ years of experience in business development / origination across insurance, factoring, investment banking, private credit, consulting, and/or other relevant fields
- Experience marketing and executing with C-suite decision makers
- Proven experience in generating leads, building relationships and exceeding developed targets
- Analytical mindset with ability to mine and collate large data sets for prospecting purposes
- Extensive experience work with CRM systems, marketing outreach tools and various data banks
- Creative thinker skilled at identifying new approaches to client acquisition and market expansion
- Excellent communication skills demonstrated through prior relevant experience
- Strong interpersonal skills for interactions with investment targets, business owners, strategic partners, and other key third parties
- Self-starter, creative thinker with an ability to dynamically adapt to new assignments or areas of focus
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
