OVERVIEW:
The D. E. Shaw group seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive associate with excellent project management and communication skills to join its Human Capital group as part of the firm’s Talent Assessment & Performance (TAP) team. TAP works to answer complex people-related questions, develops rigorous frameworks for assessment and evaluation, and helps foster a culture of feedback and growth. The associate will play a key role in supporting candidate assessment and selection efforts. The role offers meaningful opportunities for professional development and exposure to a range of Human Capital projects, as well as the opportunity to work in an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging working environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
You’ll work on various assessment initiatives supporting the firm’s core principle of hiring and cultivating extraordinary people, while partnering with teams across the firm. You’ll lead strategic projects from start to finish, manage relationships with external assessment vendors, and contribute ideas to enhance outcomes and processes. You’ll also analyze quantitative and qualitative data, providing recommendations for process improvements and future strategies.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- A bachelor’s degree, a demonstrated record of professional achievement, and three to five years of experience in comparable, cross-functional positions are required.
- Adept project managers who can shape and drive initiatives, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and have a keen eye for continuous improvement will excel in this role. A proven track record of effective collaboration with peers and other stakeholders is essential.
- We seek candidates with impressive written communication and analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to anticipate potential issues.
- Individuals with a client service mindset, who thrive in a rigorous and collaborative environment and enjoy improving processes and moving projects forward, will be successful in this role.
- Experience in HR, talent management, or an advanced degree in the human capital field is preferred but not required.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
