Join the CalPERS Private Equity group, a collaborative team overseeing CalPERS’ $78 billion private equity portfolio.
As an investment officer within the growth equity team, you will primarily assist in the underwriting of new investments, both private equity funds and positions in individual companies. In this role, you will have the opportunity to get to know many of the most successful and engaging characters in the private equity industry— as well as have exposure to CEOs across a range of industries. Additionally, you will get to take part in developing CalPERS’ sustainable investment strategy.
A strong work ethic and intense interest in investing are required as this is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to learn. Occasional travel is needed to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, and Stockholm.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Assist the lead Associate Investment Manager (AIM) or Investment Manager (IM) in the management of private equity investments through various quantitative and qualitative analyses.
- Review and implement appropriate action with respect to legal matters impacting investments.
- Monitor the progress of specific new partnership opportunities through investment evaluation.
- Support underwriting of new investments by providing analytical and process support.
Interview Dates: We anticipate interviews to be held one month from the final file date.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
