Founded in 2008, Hightower is a wealth management firm that provides investment, financial and retirement planning services to individuals, foundations and family offices, as well as 401(k) consulting and cash management services to corporations. Your Future Team
As a Manager, you will play a crucial role in executing key aspects of Hightower’s M&A and business development activities. With the direction of the Executive Director and support of the Associates, you will identify and develop relationships with potential acquisition targets, conduct due diligence, negotiate deals, and execute successful mergers and acquisitions.
What You’ll Do
Relationship Management
- Manage the M&A Associate group’s efforts of identifying, qualifying, and sourcing potential acquisition targets for the Company
- Develop relationships with wealth management business owners and independent advisors to evaluate their strategic fit and interest in joining Hightower
Acquisition Process and Deal Management
- Support the senior deal team members in executing all aspects of the deal process, including:
- Relationship-building efforts with target companies, external stakeholders and centers of influence
- Negotiating deal terms with the principals and sell-side banker representatives
- Reviewing and helping present key deliverables to internal and external stakeholders,
- Managing the due diligence process and creating accountability within the team
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate cross-functionally across Hightower departments, including integrations, legal, compliance, finance, operations, and HR, to identify and understand potential issues from a financial, strategic, and risk perspective and work to mitigate them with senior members of each team.
Team Development
- Manage the development plans for the Associate members of the team
- Oversee the Associate team supporting you throughout the deal process
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of overall experience, including 3+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions
- Proven track record of successfully executing complex M&A transactions, including due diligence, negotiation, and integration management
- Ability to serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader on M&A trends, market dynamics, and best practices within the organization and the broader industry
- Project management experience required
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
