Founded in 2008, Hightower is a wealth management firm that provides investment, financial and retirement planning services to individuals, foundations and family offices, and 401(k) consulting and cash management services to corporations. What You’ll Do
You will be an important part of HR Operations Team that supports administering human resources policies and projects that supports a growing Financial Services company. You will provide tactical HR support to managers and employees nationwide on a variety of HR topics, including employee benefits. You will report to the Human Resources Director.
- Serve as a resource for employees, addressing daily questions, providing guidance on HR policies, programs and benefits.
- Manage 401(k) plan, including enrollment, contributions and compliance.
- Oversee annual 401K True Up and 401K audit
- Manage Open Enrollment including coordinating with external broker, coordinating training, communications materials, and timelines
- Develop and implement benefit communication strategies to maximize the value of benefits to the employees of the organization
- Lead and file annual benefits reporting, testing and auditing, including discrimination testing
- Responsible for employee leave administration
- Deliver new hire benefits training for all new employees
- Design and implement corporate and firmwide wellness programs
- Ensure company compliance with provisions for all state and federal laws about benefits
- Monitor market trends and use data to evaluate benefit program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement and help guide data-based decision
- Become a Ceridian (HRIS system) superuser. Continue to develop reporting, implement new modules and other enhancements for the user experience
- Crosstrain on other tasks within team and provide backup to daily administration
- Travel to other Hightower offices (10%)
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus
- 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources generalist role
- Experience working with FMLA, ADA, Affordable Care Act, federal and state laws regarding benefits (i.e. COBRA, ERISA, Section 125), strong knowledge of health and welfare benefits
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience with cloud-based HRIS system (Ceridian a plus)
- Specific knowledge of several human resources processes (benefits, compensation, employment law/compliance, compensation, risk management)
- Ability to function in a high-energy, fast paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to research and uncover information for ad hoc projects
