Summary
Oaktree is looking for a Lead Business Analyst to join the Investment and Trading Technology (ITT) group. Oaktree is on a multi-year journey to enhance our technology landscape by adopting modern tools and leveraging modern solutions. This position will work closely with our Portfolio Managers, Traders, Middle Office, and Compliance team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the product management function for firmwide Order Management System (OMS) across Front and Middle Office functions, including Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Trade Confirmations, and Settlements.
- Establish strong working relationships with both business and technology teams to ensure seamless application support and adoption.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Trading systems and associated workflows, advising business stakeholders and development teams to enhance business processes and operational efficiencies.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across trading workflows, leveraging technology to automate manual tasks and improve efficiency across the trade lifecycle.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system validation efforts, ensuring that functionality meets business requirements.
- Manage relationships with vendors, overseeing ongoing engagements and onboarding of new vendors.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and document analysis to gather detailed business requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
- Analyze business processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in investment
Qualifications
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in maintaining, implementing, or supporting an Order Management System (OMS) within the investment industry.
- Strong experience with OMS solutions such as Charles River Development, Aladdin, SimCorp, Thinkfolio, Bloomberg AIM, or Enfusion.
- Deep understanding of financial instruments, including bonds (bank loans, CLO’s, corporates), derivatives, and FX.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards such as FIX protocol and SWIFT messaging.
- Experience writing and managing business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test plans.
- Proven track record of identifying opportunities for process improvements and optimizing workflows, particularly within trading and investment management functions.
- Experience with electronic trading platforms (e.g., Tradeweb, MarketAxess, TSOX, EMSX, Flextrade).
- Understanding pre, post and batch compliance.
- Experience with SQL queries or programming knowledge in Python.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose technology-driven solutions to enhance business operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and business stakeholders effectively.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and lead discussions to drive consensus on project requirements and priorities.

Base Salary Range
$175,000-$225,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
