The Intermediate Analyst, Infrastructure Investor Operations, will be responsible for work across a portfolio of funds and assets and will be a key contributor to the following business functions: Fund Accounting and Operations.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Fund Accounting and Operations:
- Responsible for the full reporting life cycle of a portfolio of funds and assets, including the recording of journal entries, preparation of trial balances, financial statements, investor Quarterly Reports, partners capital account statements and other custom reports;
- Work with the corporate finance team to process vendor invoices including conducting due diligence on new vendors, verification of payment details and setting up new deals in Investran;
- Record quarterly investment valuation updates and associated incentive fee accruals;
- Prepare and issue investor capital calls and distributions and coordinate with internal parties for timely issuance. This includes the preparation of cash forecasts and investor allocation calculations, recording of associated journal entries and generating notices;
- Prepare expense back-up to summarize and assist in the monitoring and analysis of Fund expenses;
- Prepare quarterly carried interest, performance fee and management fee calculations;
- Prepare analysis and support the Infrastructure Team on AGM materials, investor updates, investor queries and due diligence requests; and
- Recommend and implement ways to streamline processes.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in asset management and private markets investments, with direct experience in financial reporting for investment funds/fund entities;
- A CPA designation is preferred or is working towards a professional accounting designation;
- A self-starter who is analytical and forward thinking with the ability to drill down into data and resolve issues independently;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment on multiple tasks with exceptional attention to detail;
- Ability to take initiative – research and/or investigate issues requiring resolution and develop recommendations in order to execute on assigned tasks;
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written) with the ability to liaise with all levels of individuals both internally and externally; and
- Prior experience with Investran accounting system would be an asset.
