Position Overview: We are seeking a
Data Infrastructure Lead to join our team in Toronto or Montreal. This role is pivotal in advancing our data initiatives across the firm and within our portfolio companies, bridging technical expertise with strategic execution. The Data Engineering Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data sourcing and pipeline solutions, ensuring robust integration and alignment with our data vision.
Firm-wide, the successful candidate will lead the development of our data platform roadmap, delivering capabilities such as data integration pipelines, workflows, and applied AI tools to address key use cases. Within the portfolio, this role will serve as a thought leader and architectural advisor, collaborating with portfolio companies to design and implement tailored data solutions that drive operational success.
This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who thrives on building scalable data systems while advising and collaborating across diverse teams and organizations.
Responsibilities: - Create, evolve, and maintain data sourcing and pipelines.
- Be a data innovator when it comes to rethinking pipelines, sources and tooling.
- Drive cross-functional data efforts to achieve the company's overarching data vision.
- Develop a comprehensive roadmap for the data platform's evolution and enhancement.
- Prioritize initiatives based on business value and feasibility.
- Develop innovative pipelines and information workflows.
- Advise portfolio companies on data engineering and data architecture.
- Help to develop our data platform.
- Be able to be both hands on and advisory.
- Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand needs and deliver data solutions.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data management, data architecture, or related roles.
- Extensive experience within the asset management or financial services industry.
- Proven track record of building amazing data engineering solutions.
- Experience in developing and managing data pipelines.
- Familiarity with data platform technologies, dashboards, workflows, and applied AI solutions.
- Hands on experience with Python, Golang, Typescript.
