Finance Manager – Vice President
Role Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands

The Role & Key Responsibilities:
As Guernsey Finance Manager and working in conjunction with the regional finance team, you will be responsible for all aspects of finance locally across P+L/balance sheet reporting, regulatory reporting (and associated compliance where appropriate), billing and cash management along with supplier management for all local businesses. You will be the key liaison between the operational businesses and group finance ensuring a succinct and efficient delivering of the finance service to the local businesses. You will build strong relationships with all key stakeholders through the delivery of your role.
The Role
- Presenting to Board Members and dealing with any Regulatory requirements where applicable, particularly the calculation and ongoing monitoring of the Company’s compliance with local capital adequacy rules as well as various finance related regulatory returns.
- Acting as liaison between the operational business and the regional finance team.
- Reviewing P&L and revenue figures, comparing them against prior month and budget, identifying and articulating any variances and reasons behind the movement.
- Ensure the accuracy of intercompany recharges and that they are appropriately recorded.
- Review accrued income periodically to ensure accuracy ensuring that accrued income is billed or reversed accordingly where required.
- Presenting monthly P&L, BS reviews with Managing Director’s to review monthly figures and discuss variances (Generally by WD5).
- Presenting Country Reviews to Country Head, Regional Head and Regional Finance Director (Generally by WD10).
- Liaise with Auditors on statutory and Group Audits in conjunction with regional finance team as required.
- Review Financial Statements (drafts are completed internally).
- Assisting Executive Directors with any ad-hoc requests.
- Ensuring all Group reporting requirements are adhered too.
- Working with the business to deliverer on the periodic budgeting process.
- Assisting the business from a finance perspective to ensure that work is being completed efficiently and in line with group standards.
- Liaising with the business and the Group Treasury function to establish cash collection targets on a month basis.
- Monitor the issuance of billing on a quarterly basis in line with billing timetables for fixed and variable billing established by Group.
- Monitor and report on progression against cash collection targets on an ongoing basis and work with the business to try and address blockages.
- Work with the business to escalate debtors to credit control.
- Management of third-party service provider contracts and invoices in line with process.
- Manage the payments process through Workday to ensure timely settlement of third-party invoices by the Group Treasury function, in conjunction with the local invoices team.
Skills Required:
- Preferably a recognised accounting qualification.
- At least 5 years’ experience in an equivalent role.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
- Confident manner with strong communication skills.
- Creative thinker with the ability to deliver pragmatic solutions.
- Demonstrate personal qualities and discretion and integrity.
- An ability to work under-pressure.
